Yoga ... my introduction came when I was 4 years old in the living room along side my mom as she practiced her poses as well as going with her to a yoga class ... New Jersey 1975 style. She too was the one who handed me a book of yoga poses for kids around age 8. By the end of high school I was using a Hatha Yoga book that had once guided her to guide me in the quiet of night in my bedroom ... I will never forget the immediate relief from the teenage angst and general discomfort and anxiety of hormones while developmentally preparing to move into the world. I found that from a short practice of focused poses a door open within myself, as if I remembered something, that something was and still is one way I come home- my moving prayer. The Self, God, the Universe ... is what I call would call the home I am speaking of.

During college at Savannah College of Art and Design I continued to explore on my own the science of yoga. Once in school at the University of Oregon meditation classes, Kundallini yoga, and hatha yoga teachers began to show up in my world. At the same time my introduction to family of origin therapy began. The two together have worked in sincronicity ever since.

A Life threatening illness gave me a big push in my level of commitment and willingness to practice and cultivate a healthy sense of self and connection with life. If you know anything about Kali Durga ... it could be sort of descibed like this ... when age 25 years old- as I layed sleeping I felt Kali pull me, my consciousness, like a vacuum out through my feet -pulling me as if I was a kite on the end a string laughter resounding. I, scared out of my witts, sailed through space. I was dreaming, yes, it is a metaphor.

I have been blessed by so many curious forms of teachers. The names are too many and I will add that those who have been quiet in their expression are as if not much more influential as those whose names are familiar to most due to their fame. I am profoundly grateful for all who have been lights along my way. To all who have assisted me through the grace of simply being and there in reflected what within me knows how to simply be I am forever in thanks.

My family, my son, and those who have been closest to me in relationship are my inspiration to be the best I can be. The tenderness and passion I feel for life, for children, for the earth and all beings make me want to be a better human being. Inpiring my efforts to also be effortless and through in my maturation process to live as skillfull as possible in alignment with what is life giving ... what some call God, what others do no have a name for.

The various forms of energy work, body work, the consciousness shifts in perception which have all been practices on a spiritual, mental, emotional, and concrete physical level have been learned, forgotten, and relearned again and again. Its like this ... nothing is static! I am not specific in naming, again, because there are too many forms to mention. For all that has uplifted and strengthened my capacity to be awake in this experience of this miracle of life, my appreciation is evergreen and ever unfolding.

Through one on one sessions and group classes I show up, to be there, to mirror what innate wisdom that lies within each and every one ... that which nurtures growth and evolution- from the inside out! As I create and build health in all areas of my own experience that is what my prayer is for my work in the world, through my work with people and through my paintings.

I have experienced by way of observing my life and the lives of those around me that a deeper sense of connection within yourself, to life itself is the catalyst to whatever you intend to create, uplift, transform, and/or strengthen in your own experience. You name it, we all have our own story that is our wake up call(or not) whether it be illness in body or mind, in relationship, career, etc. The story is not what interests me, what is behind the story does! It is like this this ...connect, feel good ... follow that and see what happens ... I am!
