What is Thai Yoga Massage

Centuries ago, a dynamic bodywork therapy based on yoga and Ayurveda was born in the temples of Thailand. In this unique healing system of Thai Yoga Massage - also called Nuad Boran and widely known as traditional Thai massage - the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the body's energy ("Sen") lines and pressures points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.

Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility. No oils or creams are used.

Sky Van Horn

Sky Van Horn was taught how to massage by his father at the early age of seven and has been applying this art into his life from that beginning. In 2001, he graduated from the Arizona School of Integrative Studies with over 1100 hours of training and is licensed by the National and State Board of North Carolina.

Sky brings a very unique style and attitude to this healing profession through his masterful way of blending specialized Western massage techniques of Structural Integration, Orthopedic and Advanced Sports Massage (injury prevention and rehabilitation) with the time- tested and proven Eastern arts of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Massage, Yoga, Gung Fu, Reiki and Chi Gung.

Sky’s philosophy comes from a platform of compassion and love for these traditions. This is what fueled his search for his Dharmic path of a Teacher and Healer.

Through the art of mindful, intuitive and skillful touch, and compassionate listening Sky is able to facilitate a sacred space for the release of stress and pain found in the body-mind, soul-spirit and helps guide one down the path of healing and empowerment.

Sky teaches life’s timeless universal laws and principles in a safe and sacred space of facilitation so that each person has the opportunity to heal and begin to consciously create their own lives as they need and want to live.
